For our second and last trip of the year was to Stoney Creek Campground in Osseo, WI. We heard great things about this campground from everyone we talked to, and we were not disappointed. Our reservation was for the middle of September and we lucked out with a beautiful weekend. Temps in the high 70’s, sunny, and only slightly windy (enough to keep the awning in though). The theme for the weekend was wizards, and it started off with a sorting hat ceremony on Friday night. Throughout the weekend each house competed for points in different events. The all of the participants in winning house on Sunday all got a prize. They had candy bar bingo, train rides, ceramic painting and so much more. Unfortunately, we just missed out on the aqua obstacle course as they took that down the weekend before. The pool and swimming pond were both still open though.
Other activities were a jumping pillow, laser tag, mini golf and gem panning. They also had a very big playground and basketball court too. We had so much fun staying this weekend just hanging out around the fire. They had firewood available in either bundles or big tubs you could buy. We chose the tub, but got one with really wet logs so it took a little work to get the fire started. Marc’s sister and her family were with us again and we camped in sites 1 and 2. These are not buddy camp sites, but the do offer them. They need to be booked early as they fill up fast. Our sites were fantastic, with full hook ups and right next to the camp store.
